Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Brondesbury
Man with Van Brondesbury is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with applicable laws. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. We do not tolerate any form of exploitation in our own activities or those of our suppliers, contractors, or business partners.
Our leadership team is responsible for setting the tone from the top and ensuring that this commitment is embedded in our culture, day-to-day operations, and commercial decisions. All colleagues are expected to act with integrity, to be alert to any risks of modern slavery, and to report any concerns without delay.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Man with Van Brondesbury provides transport, moving, and associated services. Our supply chain includes vehicle hire and maintenance providers, equipment suppliers, fuel providers, and occasional subcontracted labour for certain services. While our operations are relatively simple, we recognise that modern slavery risks can exist at any point in the supply chain, particularly where services are labour intensive or goods are sourced through multiple tiers of suppliers.
Policies and Governance
This Modern Slavery Statement is supported by internal policies on ethical conduct, health and safety, recruitment, and supplier management. These policies collectively seek to ensure that our business is run in a fair, transparent, and responsible manner.
Managers are responsible for implementing this statement within their areas of control, and for ensuring that employees and subcontractors understand our expectations regarding the prevention of modern slavery.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We aim to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to ethical conduct. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management processes, we:
Ask new suppliers to confirm compliance with modern slavery and human rights laws within their own businesses and supply chains.
Assess suppliers based on the nature of goods or services provided and the potential risk profile of the sector or location in which they operate.
Reserve the right to request further information from suppliers, including details of their own policies, training, and due diligence procedures relevant to modern slavery.
Where appropriate and proportionate to risk, we may conduct or commission audits of suppliers to verify compliance. These audits may include site visits, document reviews, and interviews with relevant personnel. If we identify non-compliance or serious concerns, we will seek corrective actions within a defined timeframe and, where necessary, suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Protection
We encourage all employees, subcontractors, and others working on our behalf to report any concerns related to modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical working conditions. Reports can be made to a line manager or a designated senior manager within the business.
We are committed to ensuring that no one suffers any retaliation or disadvantage for raising concerns in good faith. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and, where appropriate, addressed through corrective and preventive measures. Where we identify a risk to the safety or wellbeing of any person, we will act swiftly and, if necessary, cooperate with relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We provide appropriate information and guidance to employees, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management, so that they can recognise potential indicators of modern slavery and know how to respond. We also encourage ongoing awareness by sharing updates on best practice and emerging risks where relevant to our operations.
Monitoring, Annual Review, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to reviewing the effectiveness of our approach to modern slavery on a regular basis. This includes monitoring supplier performance, assessing any incidents or concerns raised, and updating our policies and procedures where necessary.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by our leadership team to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and reflective of our current activities and risk profile. We may update the statement more frequently if there are significant changes to our business, the law, or recognised best practice. Through this process of continuous improvement, we aim to strengthen our ability to identify, prevent, and address modern slavery risks in our business and supply chains.
Approval
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Man with Van Brondesbury, who are responsible for its implementation and oversight.
